Lisala will start by reading from his books then talk about his writing and artwork. He'll follow that with an illustration workshop for 5-10 year olds using a mix of drawing media for children to choose from. Lisala's books will be available for sale.

Finalist in the 2017 New Zealand Book Awards For Children and Young Adults, New Zealand-Tongan author and illustrator Lisala Halapua brings his Tongan grandmother's stories to life in his Island Fables picture book series. The Mouse and the Octopus is his first book, followed by The Worm and the Whale. His third installment, fresh off the press, is The Mouse and the Ant. Lisala uses brush and watercolour with dip pen and sumi ink.
