Kirsten McKenzie will lead a workshop covering:

-how to develop promotional material

-dealing with the media (providing a press release, key points for being interviewed, radio slot preparation etc)

-what makes a good author photo

-how to decide whether to use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, website etc

-how to ask for and use reviews to promote your work

The workshop costs $25 and afternoon tea will be served.Registration required. Poppies Hamilton will have Kirsten's books for sale.

 

A full time author, Kirsten McKenzie is a former customs officer and antiques dealer, who has also dabbled in film and television.

Her historical time-slip series - The Old Curiosity Shop Series (which includes Fifteen Postcards, The Last Letter and Telegram Home)- has been described as 'Time Traveler's Wife meets Far Pavilions' and 'Antiques Roadshow gone viral'. Audiobook publisher Podium Audio has just acquired the English language audio rights for the series, with release of the series slated for July 2020.

Kirsten released her bestselling Gothic horror novel Painted in 2017, with her medical thriller, Doctor Perry, following in 2018. Both books hit #1 in the Canadian and Australian horror charts. Painted has been translated into both Italian and Brazilian Portuguese. Kirsten's next historical thriller - The Forger and the Thief- is set for release on 31st July 2020.

Kirsten lives with her husband, her daughters, two rescue cats, and can usually be found procrastinating on Twitter.
