Hamilton Book Month held in March 2014 celebrates NZ authors and their writing. A variety of fiction and non-fiction events covering different genres encourage Waikato residents to meet authors to discuss their work and to promote New Zealand writing. There are opportunities to hear authors read their work and ask about their writing influences.

All eight events are free to attend.

Local bookshops will have books for sale at the events and you can have your book signed.

The Book Month committee that formed last year is so organised we had gone ahead and gained funding and planned a month of book activities for March – which is now no longer NZ Book Month! Anyway we are going ahead and calling it Hamilton Book Month. We will no doubt have some other events in August during NZ Book Month.
