Sacred Heart Girls' College

Friday 21 March

1pm

Students from six Hamilton secondary schools have been selected to participate in a two hour writing workshop held at Sacred Heart Girls' College. Elizabeth Knox will work with students who are really keen and interested in writing and/or reading/storytelling (and any hopeful film makers or game designers too!). Elizabeth will teach a Speculative Fiction World-Building Workshop, which will aim to give its participants some skills for the creation of fictional worlds with texture, depth, and logic - all of which will make it easier for them to inhabit their characters; to not so much 'make' as 'be' them.

Elizabeth Knox is the author of the Dreamhunter Duet, which author of the Twilight series Stephanie Meyer said was "unique and amazing... like nothing else I've ever read." Dreamquake won the Printz Honor award.

Elizabeth lives in Wellington, New Zealand. Her most recent books are Wake and Mortal Fire, published in 2013.

Elizabeth's event is supported by Books For Kids.
