Lana Lopesi, appearing in Wintec's appearing in Spark's International Festival of Music, Art, Design and Media 2016SPARK Week is a writer, designer and artist as well as editor of Hashtag500words

Lana is going to provide insight into her own diverse creative practice and recent projects and also talk about what it means
being an indigenous woman working across creative industries.
​
Earlier this year she spent a month in China on a curatorial research trip working toward an exhibition for ST PAUL St Gallery
exploring how food sovereignty reveals complex relationships of migrant labour between China and the Pacific. In March she
completed a research residency at RM Gallery developing a public New Zealand Social Practice archive and from April to July
was on an Artist residency at Taipei Artist Village in Taiwan where she attempted to expand existing connections across the
Pacific to open up shared indigenous dialogues.

Lana graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from Elam School of Fine, The University of Auckland. She has exhibited extensively nationwide and her writing has been published across a number of platforms in print and online.
